The Yellowhead Chiefs showed resilience this past week, splitting two games and continuing to build momentum despite remaining in last place. A thrilling overtime victory against Pembina Valley on Friday highlighted the team’s fighting spirit, even as they fell to the Winnipeg Bruins the following night.
Friday’s matchup against the Pembina Valley Hawks saw the Chiefs grab a hard-fought 5-4 OT win. Grady McNish led the charge with two goals, including the game’s opener. Riley Swereda sealed the victory just 1:58 into overtime, with Alec Strachan adding three key assists. Conner Rapley stood tall in net, stopping 39 of 43 shots to secure the team’s victory.
