The Saga continues for the Yellowhead Chiefs, extending their winless streak to 11 games after traveling to Thompson this past weekend.

The game Saturday night saw the Chiefs gaining an early 2 goal lead and ended in an 8-6 loss. They came within 48 seconds of breaking their streak with a lead in the final minute of play, 3 powerplay goals against in the next 28 seconds and having their coach suspended was an abrupt end to the momentum.

The Sunday game was much of the same with the Chiefs in early penalty trouble and trailing by one most of the game. The Northstars picked up an empty netter to secure a 4-2 win and the weekend sweep.

Looking ahead, the Chiefs have a crucial matchup on Tuesday, December 19, against the 9th place Parkland Rangers (editor note: that game is now postponed). The looming two-week Christmas break provides an opportunity for regrouping and strategizing for a stronger second half of the season.

While the winless streak is undoubtedly challenging, the Chiefs can draw inspiration from their resilience and use this period to refocus, rebuild team morale, and come back stronger in the new year.

The season may not have started as they hoped, but with determination and a renewed mindset, the Yellowhead Chiefs have the potential to turn things around and make the latter part of the season their own.
