Something to Celebrate!

The Yellowhead Chiefs returned from the holiday break with renewed energy, kicking off the second half of the season with a much-needed win. On January 4, 2025, the Chiefs defeated the Winnipeg Thrashers 4-2 at the Shoal Lake Communiplex, marking their first victory since October 2024. Grady McNish, Redden Richmond, and Winston Lepp led the scoring, with Alec Strachan sealing the win late in the third period. Goalie Conner Rapley was outstanding, stopping 50 of 52 shots.

In the rematch on January 5, the Thrashers rebounded with a 4-1 win, despite a strong effort from the Chiefs and an early third-period goal by Riley Swereda. Rapley faced another heavy workload, making 55 saves.

Next, the Chiefs travel to Dauphin to face the Parkland Rangers on January 7, before hosting a doubleheader against the Kenora Thistles on January 11 and 12. With a win under their belt, the Chiefs are ready to make a strong push in the second half of the season. Don’t miss the action as they fight to climb the standings!
